IASH bids farewell to Julia Smith
Julia Smith leaves IASH to join Jemm Media
London, XX February 2011:
Internet Advertising Sales Houses (IASH) - the Committee founded to police the activities of sales houses and encourage best practice – today confirms the resignation of Head of IASH, Julia Smith. After two years with IASH / IAB, Smith will leave the organisation to join Jemm Media as Trading Director following her two month notice period. Smith worked as Head of Digital at Mirror Group Newspapers before joining IASH and will take up her new role with Jemm Media from the end of April. During Smith’s tenure as Head of IASH she was nominated for the NMA Greatest Individual Contribution award in 2010. IASH is currently seeking Smith’s successor.
Guy Phillipson, CEO of IAB, issued a statement; “We will, of course, be sad to lose our energetic and dedicated face of IASH, but this is a fantastic opportunity for Julia. Julia has worked hard in extending the reach of IASH and we know it will be difficult to find someone to fill her shoes.”
Julia Smith, Head of IASH, echoed Guy Phillipson; “The last two years has been a great experience for me and I am delighted to be able to execute these skills in my role at Jemm Media. I have worked closely with Matt Whaley, Founder and Director of Jemm Media, since his appointment as IASH Chairman last year. We have worked well to further raise IASH’s profile among UK advertisers and agencies. I am most excited about the technological advances of Jemm Media and look forward to fully exploiting this come the end of April.
I also intend to still play an active part in IASH as the representative from Jemm Media.”
Matt Whaley, Founder and Director of Jemm Media and Chairman of IASH, commented; “We are ecstatic to have Julia on board as Jemm Media enters a very exciting time. With 16 years’ experience working in senior roles within the digital industry, Julia’s work at IASH and unwavering knowledge of the industry leaves me with no reservations that this will be a wonderful relationship for Jemm Media as we move further into 2011. ”

About IASH
IASH exists to encourage best practice among online advertising sales houses through the adoption of an effective code of conduct. IASH also exists to promote the real benefits of the online advertising network business model.
IASH members wish to ensure that display ads placed via their networks do not appear on websites which could jeopardize advertisers' brands. This Code provides a formal framework for best practice for IASH Members to follow when dealing with advertisers, agencies, networks and site owners. The purpose of the Code is to give those buying, selling or broking internet advertising space a clear understanding of the types of inventory which can and cannot be used when fulfilling an ad insertion order.
