Phillipson and Smith nominated for NMA award


IAB chief executive Guy Phillipson and head of IASH Julia Smith have been nominated for the Greatest Individual Contribution Award at the New Media Age Effectiveness Awards 2010.

Phillipson and Smith join a prestigious list of nominees including Lord Stephen Carter, Facebook's Blake Chandlee, Bruce Daisley of Google UK, Nick Robertson of ASOS and Mindcandy's Michael Acton Smith.

Anna Rafferty, managing director of Penguin Digital won the award in 2009.

Guy Phillipson was nominated as a result of his achievements in lobbying for online ad interests through the Digital Britain process; introducing a common ad currency through UKOM; and boosting confidence in behavioural taregting.

Julia Smith was nominated in recognition of her work in extending the reach of IASH by creating its first ad campaign and running a number of agency roadshows which resulted in more agencies only working with IASH-accredited networks.

Voting closes at midday on Friday 7th May. The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony on Thursday 24th June.
