IASH ELECTS NEW CHAIR AND STEERING COMMITTEE FOR THE NEXT 12 MONTHS

Members enlist ValueClick’s Richard Sharp to drive the Council forward.

Internet Advertising Sales Houses (IASH) – the council established to police the activities of ad networks in the UK - has voted in favour of the appointment of Richard Sharp as the new Chair and for a newly elected Steering Committee to come into effect from July 1st.

Following the nomination and election process – as required by the IASH constitution - Sharp received a unanimous vote and will officially begin his tenure as Chair next month.

Members were also asked to nominate themselves to serve on the Council’s Steering Committee, which serves to provide leadership and direction to the IASH Council and facilitate the effective working of the group.  Following an IASH meeting on 16 June the newly elected members of the Steering Committee have been confirmed as Harvey Sarjant – Addvantage Media, Oliver Whitten – Platform A, Paul Hickey – Microsoft Advertising Solutions, George Odysseous – Yahoo! Networks and Federica Aperio - FOX Networks.

These changes mean that IASH has a structure which more closely replicates the set up of other trade bodies such as the IPA, with a balanced leadership team comprising of Richard Sharp as Chair, the 5 member Steering Committee, Julia Smith as  IASH Senior Manager, Guy Philipson, CEO of IAB and Richard Foan CEO ABCe.

Richard Sharp says:
“I am delighted to continue in my role as Chair and look forward to working with all members in furthering the interests of the UK Internet Sales Houses.  We have an exciting list of objectives to achieve in the coming months.  I would like to thank Julia and all IASH members for their support and efforts over the last few months”

Guy Philipson says:
““It is testament to his dedication and leadership that IASH has elected Richard Sharp as Chair. IASH has made huge strides in the last six months while he was acting Chair, and he’s the right man to steer the big initiatives IASH has planned. I’d also like to congratulate Oliver, Harvey. George. Paul and Federica on their election to the IASH Steering Committee and thank Khalil Ibrihimi and Katie Collier who are stepping down,  for their leadership and vision over the last couple of years on the Steering Committee.”
